CASI is very privileged to network across the nation with many reputable adoption agencies to expand the visibility of our adoptive parents, and hopefully shorten your time on the wait list.
PARENT ELIGIBILITY
- Singles and couples must be 25 years of age.
- Couples are in a committed relationship for two years.
- Parents must complete a home study evaluation.
- One parent must be a US Citizen
ESTIMATED WAIT TIME
Birthparents select the adoptive family; time on the wait list will vary. There is no set timeframe associated with this program. There are estimated wait times based on the ethnicity and gender preferences of the families. Families who are open to both ethnicity and gender generally have shorter wait times.
OPEN VS. CLOSED ADOPTIONS
Each family must decide on what is right for them, as do the birthparents. History has taught us that a semi-open adoption works well for all parties. This includes pictures and letters exchanged for a set number of years through the agency. This allows a comfortable adjustment period for both adoptive and birthparents.
